Community champion volunteers

Our community champions help connect our plan's goals with the community. Working with the WEAP team, you'll share information and empower your fellow residents and community to take action.

As a Community Champion volunteer you'll:

  • Provide information to residents to help improve home energy efficiency and reduce energy bills.
  • Promote WEAP's goals and the importance of community involvement in achieving a sustainable energy future for Walsall.
  • Organize or attend community events, workshops. Support discussions to gather feedback and ideas from residents.
  • Signpost residents to helpful sources of energy saving help. This includes government programs, grants, and local support organizations.

We invest in our champions:

We can offer you training that leads to qualifications and certificates. It supports your personal and professional development too. Topics include:

  • the science behind energy efficiency; insulation, heating systems, and other technologies
  • the causes and impact of climate change and ways to help reduce its effects

Opportunities for partners to be involved

The WEAP can make a bigger impact and create a sustainable energy future for Walsall by working with partners.
