Energy efficiency advice sessions

Find out about our energy advice sessions and how to arrange a Home Energy Advice Visit

Energy advice sessions are a great way to find out how to use energy more efficiently. They can help you stay in control of what you use and spend at home. The free sessions also show you how being more energy efficient can help to reduce your carbon footprint and have a positive effect on climate change.

We offer different energy advice sessions:

Energy Cafés and group advice sessions:

We hold group energy advice sessions and Energy Cafés at each of our Community Energy Hubs. The sessions feature a range of topics from general energy saving hints and tips for all seasons, to understanding your energy bills or how to make strides in reducing your personal carbon footprint. You’ll find all of our upcoming group sessions and Energy Cafés in our events hub. You don’t need to book, you can come to a group session or an Energy Café at any of our hubs.

1-2-1 energy advice session:

These sessions are on offer at our Community Energy Hubs. You can discuss your individual concerns or needs with us in a confidential, private setting and we’ll give you advice, tailored to your situation. You can arrange a 1-2-1 energy advice session at any of our Community Hubs. Contact the hub you’d like to visit to arrange an appointment.

Home energy advice visit:

Visiting you in your home helps us to assess your home environment and suggest ways you can improve your energy efficiency and reduce household energy costs. We use thermal imaging to see how energy is used in your home. Air quality and carbon monoxide detection devices help us to assess your indoor environment too.  We'll suggest improvements and adjustments that can help your home to be more energy efficient. We can also signpost you to other organisations who offer help.

Six months after our initial visit, we’ll arrange to see you again. We can see how you’re getting on, and if there’s any more support we can offer. Home energy advice visits take around 50 minutes and are free. Your follow up visit will last around 30 minutes.

You can be confident it’s us at your door:

  • We’ll contact you in advance, using the contact information you gave us, to confirm the day and time of our visit.
  • We’ll show you our official identification so you can verify our identity
